The principles of our temp job service business were developed after working in the temporary employment industry for four decades! During that period, we discovered that tenure in the industry, personalized service, quality, and commitment to customers is what it takes for an agency to rise above the rest. And you are able to leave negative reviews on my company on every forum you want and tell the world of our failures. But I assure you, our lack of performance was in no way a result of us NOT caring or not wanting to do a better job for you and your family. But for this moment, we are left as a locally owned and operated small business, trying to navigate these waters and struggling to stay afloat as best we can. And it will probably never happen again after the next 3 months go by. This scenario would NEVER have happens even 3 months ago. Last minute calls to notify you and your family of yet another reschedule was the final result. In these instances she had to ensure clients got care. In these cases my administrator had to make the unenviable determination of choosing between as assessment that could result in the growth of our company, or taking care of clients that were in danger of not getting the care they needed. This was due to caregivers calling out last minute and us not being able to find other immediate coverage before care needed to begin. But this wasn't because they felt you were unimportant. The problem, as you saw, was my Administrator and Care Coordinator were not able to make the assessments, or give proper notification of cancellation to you and your family. When you contacted our company regarding providing evening/night care we had a discussion in my office regarding our ability to staff that care if we moved forward and I was assured we could staff the nights. We have 6 people in the office, we need 9. We have around 70 caregivers, we need 80. I am not aware of another Homecare company that has an Administrator and Care Coordinator willing to go out into the field and take care of clients themselves if needed. I have an amazing management staff who truly care. They depend on us and their timely care is critical. Most of our clients are quadriplegics or paraplegics. The reality is that this creates many situations where we are struggling to ensure all of our clients get the care they desperately need. We are seeing higher rates of last minute call outs for shifts than ever before. Employees are not naive to the situation either, and some see this as an opportunity to take advantage and know that, at least for now, they won't be fired or let go for sub par performance and bad behavior. Never in the past 9 years since I started this company, has hiring been this difficult. Primarily, we are struggling to hire caregivers in the same way other companies are struggling to hire people right now.

These current world events are not limited to just our industry, many industries are feeling the same stress and unmet needs.

We are in a VERY unique time and moment in our industry. I will respond to your concerns, not in an attempt to make an excuse, but to give you the respect you deserve and explain what happened. Getting a loved one help for the first time is always stressful for the family and the loved one both. Let me start by apologizing for what happened.
